A certificate name or material statement does not automatically describe every finished product. Buyers should connect each document to the exact product, material, target market and report scope.
Start with the product and market
Identify the SKU or product version, intended use, age group where relevant, destination market and sales channel. These details help define which questions require product-specific review.
Record the document scope
For each report or supporting file, record the document name, issuing organization, report or certificate number, subject tested, applicable standard, issue date, validity where stated, and the SKUs or materials it covers.
Separate material and finished-product evidence
A material report may support a raw material or compound. A finished-product report may address the tested article and configuration. Neither should be represented as applying to unrelated products without evidence.
Check product revisions
Changes to material, colorant, construction, dimensions, accessories, supplier or intended use may affect whether an existing report remains relevant. Record revisions and confirm the scope before relying on a document.
